Flawless Kale Chips
Write a review
  1. 4 C. kale
  2. 1 1⁄2 tsp. olive oil (using a spray mister works best)
  3. 1 tsp. garlic powder
  4. 1⁄2 tsp. onion powder
  5. 1⁄2 tsp. smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  6. 1⁄4 tsp. IP salt
  1. Remove the stems and tear leaves into large pieces grabbing the base of the stem with one hand and pushing outwards along the stem to slide off the leaves.
  2. Wash and completely dry the kale leaves – they need to be completely dry before baking or they will steam instead of get crisp.
  3. Spray mist the olive oil onto the kale chips and massage the leaves to get every nick and crannie covered. Place kale in a large resealable bag. Sprinkle the seasonings in there, close the bag and gentle rotate the bag letting the seasonings coat each piece.
  4. Spread the kale in a single layer on a baking sheet. Spread them out so they are not touching, use two baking sheets if necessary. Sprinkle with seasonings, Bake at 300 for 10 minutes, rotate the baking sheets and bake another 15 minutes watching closely toward the end of baking time. (you do not need to flip the chips.)
  1. TIP: They will burn up in a real hurry if you don’t watch them – just make sure to turn on the oven light and watch through the window, do not open oven door. When finished baking, place the chips on a cooling rack. As they cool, they will get crispier. If you don’t get the stems off, they are chewy and bitter so take care to clean the kale ~ it’s worth it.
  2. SERVINGS: 4 C. veggies
